How to Set Up duplicate sale protection

Omnistar Affiliate is equipped to handle a large volume of traffic, allowing you to bring in a great deal of revenue from your affiliate managers. With this traffic comes potential problems, so we equipped the affiliate manager to allow you to prevent accidental commission through duplicate sale protection. All this does is limit sales from the same IP Address once a sale has already gone through. You can set the length of time yourself, but anything from a minute to five is an effective tool for preventing accidental sales being recorded when a customer hits refresh.

STEP 1: Add an Affiliate Program

Create an affiliate program by selecting Manage Affiliate Programs, then click Add Affiliate Program. Input the Affiliate Program details. On this page, you should also enter a length of time for the affiliate to wait before processing additional sales. This will ensure the system does not record sales from a customer hitting refresh after already placing an order

STEP 2 Optional: Enable administrators to review sales

On the next page of the affiliate setup options you have the ability to enable administrators to review sales commissions. This is an essential step to use if you process a high volume of sales, because it ensures that the admin checks every commission for a matching sale This way, you can be certain there were no fraudulent or accidental sales added. Simply click the check box where the software says All sales from this affiliate program must be approved before being added to the system, and you're ready to start making sales.
