Affiliate marketers can gain a wide audience if they appeal to the right bloggers. One of the best ways to do this is to look for a blogging audience that might be interested in the program that you are promoting. For example, affiliates promoting environmentally friendly cleaning, beauty, and health products would do well to find blogs in that niche. Once you have found a blog that seems to be in a similar niche as your affiliate program, you should post thoughtful comments on the blog in response to posts that you think are valuable. You should not just post your link and leave a comment that either doesn’t make sense or is spammed. Instead, taking the time to write something meaningful will get a better reaction from the blogger, and they may become interested enough to click your link.
The nice thing about posting comments on a blog is that you are reaching more than just one blogger. You are also reaching out to their audience. This is why it is sometimes better to post on high-traffic blogs that do not have as many comments. If you post on a blog that has a fair few comments after each post, your post may get lost in the mix somewhere.
Another way to connect with bloggers is through social media. If you find a blogger that you like, you can follow them on Twitter, befriend them on Facebook, or use any other preferred social networking site to connect with them. After you have connected with the blogger, you may also want to do the same with some of their followers, friends, or fans. Being relatable is key with social media, and connecting with bloggers via their social media accounts is a great way to interact and gain exposure for your business.
