Omnistar Affiliate is designed to be extremely flexible, because we know that our customers use any number of different solutions on their sites, and our software needs to be compatible. Thats why we built the affiliate manager the way we did, it has the ability to work with most any payment system used on the web, because it records sales only when the customer reaches the thank you page after completing a sale. |

STEP 1: Configure your affiliate system
You should set up your affiliate software before you add our tracking code. You will want to know whether you are paying a set amount per sale, or paying a portion of the total sale, because it will make a difference later on.
|
STEP 2: Copy our Code to your Thank You page
From the main admin page, click on the Getting Started Wizard. This page lists your tracking code, simply copy and paste this onto the thank you page that follows a successful sale. Please Note: it is important that your thank you page be unique, because shared thank you pages could potentially record a user signing up for your email list after being forwarded to your site by an affiliate as a sale. Keep this in mind when implementing the Affiliate code.
|
STEP 3 Optional: Integrate with the total tracking function of your payment gateway
Many payment gateways include an internal variable that tracks the total of the order. If you have your affiliates earning a percentage of each sale and wish to automatically process the total, you can include that variable in the tracking code, where by default it says amount=10. Simply look up what the variable is for your payment gateway, and substitute it for 10.

STEP 4: Record sales!
Once sales start comming in you will want to double check that your affiliate code is recording only legitimate sales. The software is also capable of preventing duplicates within a certain period of time, and requiring your approval for all affiliate commissions, allowing you to double check their legitimacy with your sales records before you record commission.
