Best Email Marketing Software

ActiveCampaign

Active Campaign is designed for small to medium sized businesses but they also carry enough features that could grow together with your business. Their services provides CRM, marketing automation, and email marketing in one so there’s no need to go searching for a marketing stack that would work well with your business.

Features:

Active Campaign has a lot of features but the most notable one is the inclusion of different pre-built automation recipes which were created to help businesses address different user behaviors which include the multiple specific product visits, average frequency or order size, cart abandonment and others more.

Integrations:

This software supports Integrations that are API based and has BigCommerce and Shopify. For the others like Magento, StoreEnvy, or even BigCartel, the users would need to use the Revenue Conduit or Zapier so they could pull eCommerce data. It’s also deeply integrated with Bigcommerce, and Shopify.

Zapier supports WooCommerce, GumRoad, Shipstation, Shipwire, StoreEnvy, BigCartel, Tapfiliate, and Lemonstand integrations. Revenue Conduit supports Magento, WooCommerce, Shopify, and BigCommerce.

Price:

The pricing is based on the number of contacts you have in your business. There are also different tiers for each such as a lite tier for low prices, but this also doesn’t have CRM or other deep data integrations that could be used for BigCommerce. The Plus is for professional levels, it comes with up to 25k contacts, but if you want more than that you can contact them for a different pricing, don’t worry because even their plus remains to be affordable. They also have an enterprise pricing that comes with in depth onboarding, a dedicated account rep, social data, and phone support.

Disappointments:

It lacks direct integration, it has integration but only with limited eCommerce platform and their services is a deal breaker for people who do not which to go through third parties. There’s also a lack of landing pages and its system has a learning curve.

Klaviyo

Klaviyo is a software that bills themselves as an email software vs a full marketing automation solution, this makes sense when you examine its features well. This awesome tool definitely has a great emailing tool. It also has deep integrations with a lot of eCommerce platforms as well as marketing tools such as Unbounce, SumoMe, JustUno, and others more. You can also make up for the marketing automation features that this platform don’t have.

Features:

This software was built to be an eCommerce automated email tool which is why it’s a breeze to setup an automated campaign, cross sell, cart abandonment, and win back. Custom templates are easy to build, with their wide integration options, importing could be done in a snap. Their ideas are useful to build automation campaigns in your account. Pixel and snippet tracking lets you segment on the content viewed by users.

Integrations:

This is one of the most common platforms for eCommerce and their custom integration option through Javascripts is a great choice to choose for a custom platform. The Javascript integration solution is similar to the one of Google Analytics eCommerce tracking that would let you fill in the blanks with the order details that you can send to Klaviyo.

Integrated with:

  • Shopify
  • Magento
  • BigCommerce
  • WooCommerce
  • Spree
  • Volusion
  • And other custom integrations possible through the JS code snippet.

Pricing

The pricing system of Klaviyo is based on the amount of contacts you would be storing in their system. Contacts are not just your customers, this include your subs and lists from your MailChimp, and other systems. You can use Klaviyo for free for upto 250 contacts and 500 emails you  send but as this increase, your cost will too. Klaviyo does its best to keep it affordable at $25 per month for as much as 500 contacts, $50 for as much as 1000 contacts, $75 for as much as 1,500, and so on.

Disappointments

Unfortunately their sales or the demo is is very disappointing and really short. A lot of people also mentioned that their custom integration is not as easy as they make it seem and for $1,000 and 80k contacts, I wish there was something more to go with it.
